25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi met with owner Emily Balga for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection. Upon arrival LPA observed 14 preschool children supervised by two staff and director Kaylin McCosckey. Licensee requests to increase from a capacity of 28 preschool children to 56 preschool children and add room #3 to the preschool license. LPA received the approved fire clearance on 02/02/2022.
There are two preschool classrooms: classroom #2 and classroom #3. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, and cubbies. There is a first aid kit in the classroom and trash cans with lids. LPA observed a water bottles in the classroom. There is a functional carbon monoxide detector in the hallway. Applicant stated the facility will use an electronic sign-in/sign-out system. A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA used the existing measurements taken during the pre-licensing inspection of 11/24/2020. The total indoor space for classroom #2 is 1009.167 square feet and classroom #3 is 1018.921 square feet for a total combined measurement of 2028.088 square feet. This will accommodate 56 preschool children. There are three toiltes one urinals and four sinks for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff. Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
Effective today, 02/14/2022, the increase in capacity is approved for 56 preschool children.
An exit interview was conducted and in the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the inspection. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for 30 days for parental review. |
