25 | On Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:15 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Loraine Perez and Katrina Owens met with Licensee, Maria Rodriguez for the purpose of an unannounced annual/random inspection. Upon arrival there was a census of three infants. Also present in the home is Licensee's assistant. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facility hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: garage, laundry room, both side yards, outdoor shed and two occupied bedrooms. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPAs observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPAs observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons and poisons are kept locked. LPA observed there is no fireplace and no stairs. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee uses two “kiddie pools” that are drained after each use. LPAs observed there is a swing set in the back yard that is anchored to the ground. The licensee have three dogs and one cat that are not around children in care.
LPAs reviewed children’s files which were observed to be complete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. LPAs observed that the last fire drill was conducted 08/09/2024. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid card expires 12/2024. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training is current. Licensee was reminded to renew both certificates every two years.
