13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with facility representative Nita Baring to deliver findings for a complaint investigation. LPA observed 36 preschool children supervised by five staff.
The following was alleged: 1) Staff is interfering with the sleep of children in care and 2) Staff is providing a child with food that is limited by dietary restrictions.
During the investigation, interviewed staff and parents, and reviewed children’s files. Evidence was conclusive that staff awake children early from nap, but at the request of their parents. There was enough evidence to suggest that the facility does not force the children to stay awake if they were to fall back asleep afterwards. There was no evidence to suggest that children are fed outside of their dietary restrictions. Evidence did suggest that the facility offers special treats on occasion, but the children’s parents determine if they want their child to have them or not.
The preponderance of evidence standard has not been met; therefore, the allegation is determined to be UNSUBSTANTIATED. The allegation can neither be corroborated nor dismissed.
No Title 22 deficiencies will be issued. LPA reviewed this report with facility representative Nita Baring, and provided a Notice of Site Visit that must be posted for 30 days.
