25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with applicant, Zaira Gonzalez, for a scheduled pre-licensing inspection at the facility. Applicant lives in two story single family home with one adult and three minor children. All the adults living in the house has criminal background clearance on file. Applicant has provided the proof of ownership of the house. Child care will be provided in areas: On ground floor - Room on the right side of the main entrance, Hallway, Bathroom in the hallway, Living room, Dining area, Kitchen, Portion of the Backyard on the right side of the house. Off limit areas: Entire second floor, Garage and Portion of the backyard, which is behind the the house. Applicant understood that all off limits areas must remain inaccessible to children. Applicant was notified that prior to use of any off limits area, the department must be notified. Applicant plans to operate between Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 5 PM.
LPA Singh inspected the entire home with the applicant for health and safety hazards. The house has proper temperature and ventilation. All the toxic or dangerous materials are stored in off limit areas. Stairs leading to the second floor have child protective gates installed. Fireplace is barricaded. The house has a working telephone, fully charged 3A: 40BC fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. There is first aid kit available. There is a variety of age appropriate toys available. As per the applicant, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. All unused electrical outlets are properly covered. Cabinets in the kitchen have child protective locks installed. There is pool in the backyard. LPA observed the pool has metal fence to keep the pool area inaccessible for the children. Using the measuring tape, it was found that the pool fence is 5 feet 2 inches high from the ground. The pool gate self latching gate and the applicant has the gate locked. There are two windows in the living room, which opens toward the pool area. LPA observed the windows have the locks installed, which can be only open by using the tool, making the windows inaccessible to open. There is a trampoline in the back yard. Applicant stated that the trampoline will not be used for the day care children. LPA observed the trampoline has the manufacture safety net all around it.
