Applicant has requested shared boys and girls restrooms with the adjacent school. LPA received a waiver request from the Program Manager for the shared restrooms. LPA advised Program Manager that the waiver will require approval by the Licensing Program. The isolation area for children who are ill will be near the front of the classrooms, away from other children. Children who become ill during the day will use the separate staff restroom.
The facility provides AM snack and PM snack for children according to CACFP menus.
The facility playground was fully fenced. Fencing was at least four feet high in all areas. LPA measured outdoor preschool activity space of 17,752.8 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 preschool children.
There are sufficient outdoor toys and play equipment available on the playground. LPA reminded Program Manager to ensure that all play equipment and structures are only utilized by appropriate age groups. Drinking water is available outdoors via individual containers provided by the facility. There are sufficient wood chips under the play structure to provide padding. Shade is provided by nearby trees.
Program Manager was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
