25 | On the above noted date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Site Supervisor Nancy Cortez. Licensee is requesting to decrease from a capacity of 95 preschool children to 50 preschool children ages 2 through 5 in rooms CV1 and CV2. Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Present during today’s inspection were 27 children with 4 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Nancy Cortez that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 1977.81, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 50 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via drinking fountain, Brita water with disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property.
An updated Fire clearance will be obtained prior to processing the decrease request.
LPA observed a total of 4 sinks and 4 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 50 children.
LPA reviewed with Site Supervisor the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained at The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. |
