32 | ·When temporarily absent from the home, the Licensee shall arrange for a substitute adult to care for and supervise children
· A working telephone is present.
· A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed and needle in the green. A smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were present and tested during this inspection.
· All hazardous items are inaccessible to include detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, however the LPAs observed other items which could pose a danger to children. Additional items observed were propane tanks, wheel barrel, ladders, and miscellaneous equipment for landscaping, decorating and home projects which were present in the backyard. Licensee assistant placed a baby gate separating the area making it inaccessible during inspection. LPAs observed miscellaneous hygiene product shampoos, conditioners, and other hair products in the children’s restroom shower and other hygiene products accessible to school age children on bathroom shelving. The Licensee removed items during inspection. LPAs observed bedroom 2 to have sewing materials, sewing needles, miscellaneous shelving propped against the bed. During the inspection the licensee designated Bedrooms 2 and 3 to be Off-Limits to daycare, making them inaccessible.
· Storage of poisons is inaccessible to children and locked.
· There is not a fireplace in the home.
· No guns or weapons present as stated by the Licensee Brenda Strader. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 regulations.
· This is a one-story home and only stairs leading up to the enclosed front porch and outside the back door, leading to the outdoor area.
· Home is clean with heating and ventilation for safety. However, the LPAs did NOT observe the home to be orderly for comfort. Clutter of craft items, boxed electronic peripherals, and miscellaneous home supplies such as light bulbs, home fresheners located in the dining room tools; children's equipment, clothing, throws, located the living room and hallways open and accessible to daycare children. Outdoor refrigerator designated for children was observed to have expired condiments with beginning stages of mold. The licensee stated the children do not use the condiments and discarded the items in the presences of LPAs.
· Safe and appropriate toys and equipment are present for both indoor and outdoor activities.
· Outdoor play areas are fenced and/ or appropriate supervision is present
· Verification of control of property on file by a tax invoice.
· Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expire on 11/11/2025. |
