13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Torres, conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to deliver the findings of the investigation into the above allegation. The LPA met with Business Office Manager, Janesa McDonald, and informed her of the purpose of her visit.
A report was received alleging staff of the facility failed to ensure Resident One (R1) received their medication via subcutaneous injection. The investigation included staff/resident interviews, records review, and records collection. R1's Physician's Report for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) revealed the resident is diagnosed with a condition requiring injections, of which the resident cannot manage on their own. An interview with R1 was conducted; however, no statement could be provided regarding the matter. Staff interviews could not corroborate or refute the validity of the allegation. A Medication order revealed R1 is to be administered a medication via subcutanteous injection daily, with breakfast. A medication administration record for the month of May 2022 revealed there to be no documentation of administered injections for R1 from May 20, 2022 through May 26, 2022.
