On 6/19/2024, at 08:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Claudia Caywood conducted an unannounced visit to the facility for the purpose of concluding a complaint investigation. LPA met with Assistant Director, Delia Castaneda regarding the above listed allegation, which was received on 4/30/2024. During the visit, LPA toured the facility, took census, and spoke to the Assistant Director regarding final findings.

Allegation: Staff did not interfere with day care children engaging in a physical altercation.

During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews with all pertinent parties, including staff, reviewed documentation, and toured the facility.

Staff stated facility policy requires staff to model proactive positive behavior by encouraging children to utilize their words. Staff stated a child placed their foot near another child’s face and they encouraged the child to tell the other child not to do that and they didn’t like that.

Staff stated there was no physical altercation between the children.

Based on interviews with all pertinent parties, conflicting information was obtained from what was alleged. Although the allegation may have happened, or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided to the Assistant Director, Delia Castaneda.

A Notice of Site Visit was also provided and posted which must stay posted for 30 days.

THIS REPORT MUST BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC, UPON THEIR REQUEST, FOR THREE YEARS.
