It was alleged that staff handled child in a rough manner, when a subject staff was observed yanking a subject child’s arm to raise the child up. The LPA conducted a review of records, made observations and conducted interviews with pertinent parties relevant to the investigation which revealed the following. Pertinent parties interviewed did not corroborate the allegation and denied a staff yanked a child by the arm and indicated the subject staff was in the process of preventing a child from hitting the floor, after throwing themselves backwards. During the investigation the LPA did not observe of violations of staff caring and supervising children. The LPA was unable to interview other parties pertinent to the investigation. Based on LPA observations, review of records, the inability to interview other pertinent parties and conflicting statements obtained during the investigation, the allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated.
It was alleged that staff yell at children in care when a subject staff was observed yelling in an angered tone at a daycare child. The LPA conducted a review of records, made observations and conducted interviews with pertinent parties relevant to the investigation which revealed the following. Pertinent parties interviewed did not corroborate the allegation and denied a staff yell at daycare children. Pertinent parties stated that voices may be raised in a classroom to gain the attention of daycare children, however the voices are not spoken in a harsh tone. During the investigation the LPA did no observe staff yell at children. The LPA was unable to interview other parties pertinent to the investigation. Based on LPA observations, review of records, the inability to interview other pertinent parties and conflicting statements obtained during the investigation, the allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated.
It was alleged that a staff uses inappropriate language with children present when a staff was observed yelling for a subject child to “Get up!”, from the floor while yanking the child by the arm. The LPA conducted a review of records, made observations and conducted interviews with pertinent parties relevant to the investigation which revealed the following. Pertinent parties interviewed did not corroborate the allegation and denied a staff uses inappropriate language or words to instruct children. During the investigation the LPA observed the staff to use appropriate language when instructing and redirecting daycare children participating in activities throughout the day. The LPA was unable to interview other parties pertinent to the investigation. Based on LPA observations, review of records, the inability to interview other pertinent parties and conflicting statements obtained during the investigation, the allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated.
