On March 21, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elyse Jones arrived at the facility to conclude the investigation regarding the above allegation. During the investigation, LPA toured the facility and took census.

On February 28, 2024, a complaint was received alleging staff did not escort a daycare child to the restroom resulting in the daycare child being soiled. It was noted that a daycare child soiled himself/herself twice in one day while in care. During pick up the child was observed to be wearing spare clothes, however, the spare clothes were also soiled. During interviews with pertinent parties, it was disclosed that all children are taken to the restroom at the scheduled times and if children need to use the restroom in between times, a staff member will be called to escort them. Staff ensure each child goes into a stall but does not look in the toilet to ensure the child used the restroom. Children who are taken to the restroom are potty trained and do not need regular assistance. Licensing Program Analysts did observe staff escorting children to the restroom during the inspection.

During the first incident the child did inform his/her Teacher who called for an escort but the child had already soiled himself/herself before the escort arrived. During the second incident the children were participating in Circle Time right before pick up and it was alleged the child did not inform the Teacher. It is unknown how long it took to the Teacher to make the phone call and how long it took the escort to arrive to the classroom in the AM. It is also unknown if the child did/did not inform the Teacher during Circle Time.

This agency has investigated the complaint regarding the above allegation. Based on the interviews conducted and documentation collected, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. A finding of unsubstantiated means, although the allegations may have happened, or are valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove the allegations occurred.

No deficiencies cited during this inspection.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Angie Twyman, Director.
