On March 5, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elyse Jones arrived at the facility to conclude the investigation regarding the above allegation. During the investigation, LPA toured the facility and took census.

On January 10, 2024, a complaint was received alleging staff did not provide adequate supervision resulting in a child being injured by another child. It was noted on four occasions a child intentionally scratched another child on their face. All pertinent parties were not available for interview. However, during interviews with other pertinent parties, it was disclosed that there are children who experience challenging behaviors but none of the behaviors continue long enough to be a concern. Staff disclosed they have never seen any children intentionally scratching other children but acknowledged that children do have accidents and children have been bumped or hit when the children get overly excited. There was not enough evidence disclosed during the interviews with pertinent parties that corroborate the allegations.

Furthermore, it was disclosed that when children are experiencing challenging behaviors the facility staff will redirect children, encourage positive interactions with friends, encourage children to participate in separate activities away from a child who they have conflict with, make accommodations for children to sit at different tables during lunch time, have conferences with Authorized Representatives to discuss inappropriate and ongoing behavioral challenges and lastly will disenroll children, if necessary.

This agency has investigated the complaint regarding the above allegation. Based on the interviews conducted and documentation collected, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. A finding of unsubstantiated means, although the allegations may have happened, or are valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove the allegations occurred.

No deficiencies cited during this inspection.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
