Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brian Morris arrived at the facility to conduct a subsequent complaint visit, which included concluding the investigation and delivering the findings related to the complaint initiated on January 17, 2026. LPA met with Facility administrator/Lead Teacher Vanessa Rodriguez and discussed the above-referenced allegations.

Regarding the allegation of lack of supervision, it was reported that the provider and staff members were in the restroom with children, leaving other children in the classroom unsupervised. LPA conducted interviews with staff and children in care. Based on the interviews conducted, LPA was unable to identify a specific incident or determine a date when a lack of supervision occurred. Additionally, no witnesses were identified who could corroborate the allegation or provide specific dates or times. During visits conducted on 01/28, 02/04, and 02/13, LPA Morris observed that the facility was in ratio at all times. Therefore, LPA was unable to obtain sufficient evidence to support the allegation of lack of supervision.

Regarding the allegation that staff yell at children, LPA conducted interviews with staff and children in care. Based on the information obtained, LPA was unable to corroborate the allegation. Confidential interviews yielded conflicting statements, and the accuracy of the information could not be verified. Staff members interviewed denied the allegation.

Regarding the allegation that staff mishandled children by pulling them by their arms or wrists, LPA conducted interviews with staff, children in care, and parents. LPA Morris also reviewed cell phone video footage provided by a concerned parent (P1). The video, recorded on an unknown date at the Sunnymead Montessori School playground, depicts an unidentified female staff member appearing to hold a child by the arm. Due to the distance and quality of the footage, it is unclear whether the staff member was holding the child’s hand or pulling the child by the arm. LPA obtained a written statement and conducted interviews regarding the video. The reporting parent (P1) stated they were unable to identify the staff member or the child shown in the footage and were also unsure of the date the video was recorded.

Additional interviews conducted with children in care indicated that they had not observed any mishandling/pulling of a child’s arm/wrist. Staff interviewed also denied the allegation.

Based on information obtained through interviews with the licensee and other relevant individuals, the above allegations cannot be verified. While the allegations may have occurred, there is insufficient evidence to determine whether they did or did not take place. Therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.

An exit interview was conducted with Facility administrator/Lead Teacher Vanessa Rodriguez, a Notice of Site Visit posted, and a copy of this report was provided to the facility on this date and time.
