32 | There is an allegation where children contracted ringworm. Staff interviews state that there hasn't been any outbreaks, and the disease can be contracted anywhere. There is an allegation that the facility staff do their best to keep the facility clean and sanitary, however, the facility is old and the cleanliness is questionable. LPA observed the facility to be located in an older strip mall and information was provided that this site was opened for day care purposes originally in 1993, and that the strip mall was here prior to that date. LPA observed a "musty" odor in the facility and primarily in the restrooms. The facility shares plumbing and the adjoining buildings with the rest of the strip mall. The facility does have a window in the Art Room with a crack, however the window is tempered glass and does not appear to be in any imminent danger of shattering. The cleanliness of the facility is subjective depending on the individual as discussed with the licensee and director.
LPA was provided with work contract from a cleaning service who arrive after closing hours to clean the facility Monday through Friday.
Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
An exit interview was conducted, appeal rights discussed and provided along with a Notice of Site Vist and a copy of this report on this date to the facility |
