25 | This is an amended report to a visit conducted on February 11, 2025.
On February 20, 2025, at 11:10AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor made an unannounced visit at Hope Children's Center (CCC) and was greeted by Director (DIR) Paulina Escamilla. The purpose of the visit was to deliver an amended report for an Annual inspection, conducted on February 11, 2025.
LPA met with (DIR) Paulina Escamilla to correct a typing error that read, a technical violation will be given, because children under the age of two are currently enrolled and facility is currently licensed to serve children 3-5 years old. The correction should have read that children under the age of three (3) are currently enrolled and not two (2). CCL recently approved the stipulations of the current license to serve preschool children from 2 to 5 years old from the hours of 6:30AM- 6PM.
During the visit, LPA toured the facility, took census and measured the outdoor playground that is newly enclosed and a indoor classroom. The outdoor activity space is enclosed by a self-latching, black mesh fence that is approximately five-feet tall. CCC intends to use classroom #1 and the enclosed outdoor activity space, that leads directly into classroom #1 for newly enrolled 2 year old's. LPA observed the enclosed outdoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including benches with seating, play houses, a covered patio and shade from surrounding trees. The majority of the playground uses wood chips, surrounding play houses and covering the ground. Classroom #1 is currently not being utilized due to enrollment. The total outdoor activity space that is enclosed by the mesh fence, is 1496 square feet, which is sufficient space to accommodate 19 children while outside. Director stated they understand the enclosed outdoor activity space, leading from classroom #1 provides sufficient space for 19 children. |
