On 2/28/2025 at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Claudia Caywood arrived at the facility to conduct a required three-year inspection as part of a compliance review. Licensee was absent during this visit. Facility representative, Maria Jimenez was left alone with a total of 12 children. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed:

Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 5:00pm

OFF-LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: Entire second floor, kitchen, laundry room, side yard, and garage.



The facility is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios
· Appropriate supervision was not provided during this inspection (See 809-D)
· A working telephone is present and current number on file
· Appropriate fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector present and were tested by the Licensee during this inspection.
· Fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children
· All hazardous items are inaccessible to children
· Toxins were locked
· There are no weapons present at the facility. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations
· The facility is a second story home
· Stairs are barricaded
· Verification of control of property on file- (Lease Agreement)
· Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan & Notification of Parent’s Rights poster are posted (See 809-D)
· Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 7/15/2022
· Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expired on 6/2024
· Health & Safety Certificate - completed on 7/24/2022 (CONT. 809-C)

There are bodies of water currently. LPA observed a pool/jacuzzi with a self-closing and self-latching gate that was tested by LPA. The gate is a minimum of 60 inches and pool is compliant with AB2866. Licensee did not comply with PIN 25-01-CCP swimming pool safety licensing requirement for AB2866 (See LIC 809-D) Licensee understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before. and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

The licensee provided proof of control of property.

No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. During the exit interview, the Facility representative, Maria Jimenez confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
