25 | On the date and time listed, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Perla Ordones and Tiffanie Diep arrived at the facility in response to a request by the licensee who wishes to make their off-limits backyard area on-limits. LPAs were granted entry to the facility by Licensee Guadalupe Najera. Present during the inspection was the Licensee, Licensee's husband, Licensee's adult child, and Licensee's two foster children. No day-care children were present during today's inspection.
As of today's visit, the following off-limit areas are: Second Floor, First Floor Hallway Closet, Garage, and Backyard.
LPAs toured the backyard area and observed several plants present in the backyard area that had spikes/thorns which were observed during the prelicensing visit as well. LPAs informed Licensee that prior to making the backyard area on-limits, the plants with spikes/thorns must be made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated they planned on removing the remaining plants with spikes/thorns from the backyard area. Licensee also stated that they would send pictures to LPA once all plants with spikes/thorns were removed from the backyard. During the visit, LPAs observed Licensee's husband remove two plants from the backyard area. LPAs also observed that the two citrus trees in the backyard that previously had spikes/thorns were now trimmed of spikes/thorns.
Prior to approving the request to make the backyard are on-limits, the following needs to be corrected/completed:
- All plants with spikes/thorns in the backyard must be made inaccessible to children in care.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
An exit Interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Guadalupe Najera. |
