On 03/26/2025 at 09:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Sumayya Habeebulla and Brian Morris, conducted a Case Management visit in response to information received from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). LPAs met with Val Verde Regional Learning Center #336300345, Site Coordinator Candace Edwards who was informed of the reason for the visit.

Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their drinking and cooking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first lead testing. LPA observed on the report provided by the SWRCB the FAUCET IDENTIFIED (Faucets F & G).

LPA Morris received water testing results taken on 11/20/2024 with an Action Level Exceedance of F: 18.4 PPB and for G: 7.03 PPB, which is higher than the allowable limit. The faucets are located on the outdoor playground area.

Ms. Edwards stated the drinking water fountains have never been used by the childcare children. The water fountains have been covered and made inaccessible to staff and children

No deficiencies issued during this visit.

An exit interview was conducted with Candace Edwards. A copy of this report, appeal rights and a Notice of Site Visit was issued.
