25 | On January 31, 2025, at 9:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst, Cindy Hamilton and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Carlos Martinez made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a case management visit. LPA and LPM were granted access to the home by Licensee Melissa Valenzuela. During this visit, LPA and LPM toured the facility inside and out and conducted census of children in care.
The purpose of the visit is to ensure the above ground pool on site was in compliance per Title 22 regulations. Licensee installed an above ground pool in July 2024 and intends to use for daycare children. LPA and LPM observed the pool was enclosed by a wooden fence that obstructs the view of the pool, has a pool cover and has a gate that does not open out or self latching device. In addition, there is a window that would allow access to the pool within the fenced area. This pool area does not meet Title 22 regulations at this time. The FCCH is being cited a Type A violation for Title 22, Section 102417(5)(B) Operation of a Family Child Care Home. Licensee has temporarily made the backyard off-limits until corrections can be made.
Upon receipt of a Type A violation, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. A copy of the LIC 9224 Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports was given to Licensee.
An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report and PIN 25-01 CCP was reviewed with and provided to Licensee Melissa Valenzuela. Appeal Rights and Notice of Site visit were also discussed and provided during the exit interview. Licensee reminded Notice of Site visit must remain posted for 30 days. |
