25 | On the above noted date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new preschool and toddler option component. Upon arrival, LPA met with Karen Winter. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for a total capacity of 133, 121 preschool children ages 2 through 5 years and 12 toddler option children ages 18 months - 36 months, in rooms 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, and 108.
Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 6:30 - 5:30.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Karen Winter that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Karen Winter stated, they will be stored in the front reception/office area with staff. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in each classroom, kitchen and front reception/office area. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in each classroom. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the front reception/office area. Children will be signed in and out at in the front reception/office area.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 4688.68, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 133 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via drinking fountains and the children's water bottles brought from home. The facility will have bottle water available for any child who forgets their water bottle. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. |
