25 | On May 6, 2025, at 11:51 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cindy Hamilton conducted an unannounced annual inspection for a small family childcare. LPA met with licensee Chantell Daniels, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. There was 1 child present with Licensee when LPA arrived.
The facility operates Sunday through Saturday from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM each day. Certain areas are off-limits, including the entire second floor, kitchen, laundry room, bedrooms #1 and #2 (downstairs), living room and garage. The facility is licensed as a small Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with a maximum capacity of eight children and is operating within the licensed capacity of the license.
During the inspection, LPA observed Licensee to be responsive and aware of where the child was at all times. A working cell phone and landline telephone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed, along with a functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, both of which were tested by the Licensee. The fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children, and all hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. Weapons are present and the Licensee, Chantell Daniels, understands that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations. LPA observed weapon storage is in compliance with Title 22. Stairs are barricaded with a baby gate when children are in care.
The facility provides clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys for children. A current roster is on file, and required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill conducted on December 20, 2024.
