On August 5, 2025 at 02:45 pm, Licensing Program Analyst’s (LPA’s), Hayley McCarthy and Tricia Danielson arrived at La Petite Academy to deliver the amended investigative findings of the allegation listed above. LPA met with Interim Director, Jacquelyn Negrete.

On April 14, 2025, a complaint was received alleging staff are not providing food to children which meets their nutritional needs.

Regarding the allegation that staff are not providing food to children which meet their nutritional needs, it was disclosed that children were being served food that does not meet the nutritional guidelines and that children were being served rice and beans for lunch for weeks at a time. During interviews with staff and children, 4 out of 11 interviewed revealed that there was a period where children were served rice and

beans daily. A copy of the weekly menu was obtained and showed a variety of nutritious food served at the facility during meals.

Based on LPA’s observations, record review and interviews which were conducted, the allegation that staff are not providing food to children which meet their nutritional needs is unsubstantiated. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed by Interim Director, Jacquelyn Negrete. A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to the interior side of the main door for 30 days. The report must be made available to the public for three years. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
