32 | The required (2A-10BC) fire extinguisher was observed in the day care room. LPA reminded applicant that the fire extinguisher must be serviced annually or as often as necessary. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked, batteries should be replaced.
Applicants have completed the required preventative health and safety course which includes nutrition and prevention of lead exposure on January 24, 2025. Applicant’s Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires February 8, 2027. Mandated Reporter Training expires February 28, 2025. Applicant has required proof of immunizations on file.
Per Applicant, there are not any weapons or firearms in the facility. Applicant understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations.
According to the applicant, the children will use the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA noted that the yard contains toys and other play materials. There is a trampoline on the premises and the applicant states that it will be used by children in care. The trampoline and its surrounding cover appear to be in good repair with no tears or exposed springs. The applicant agrees to only use the trampoline in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and will provide adequate supervision to all children in care.
There are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Licensee understands that all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools, spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted.
The applicant provided proof of control of property; copy of mortgage statement.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance
