32 | Smoke/carbon monoxide detector was observed, tested by applicant, and found to be operable. The required (2A-10BC) fire extinguisher was observed mounted in the kitchen area. LPA reminded applicant that the fire extinguisher must be serviced annually or as often as necessary. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked, batteries should be replaced.
Applicants has completed the required preventative health and safety course which includes nutrition and prevention of lead exposure on 11/05/2022. Applicant’s Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires 06/15/2026. Mandated Reporter Training expires 04/08/2027. Applicants has required proof of immunizations on file.
Per Applicant, there are not any weapons or firearms in the facility. Applicant understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations.
According to the applicant, the children will use the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. Additionally, Applicant installed safety gates limiting the access to the backyard. The children will not have full access to the entire backyard. Applicant understands the safety gates must be replaced when they are no longer in the original condition.
There are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Applicant understands that all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools, spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
The isolation area for a sick child waiting to be picked up will be in the living room area, away from other children. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted.
The applicant Elizabeth Montano provided proof of control of property; copy of mortgage statement.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance
