32 | Smoke/carbon monoxide detector was observed, tested by applicant, and found to be operable. The required (2A-10BC) fire extinguisher was observed in the laundry room. LPA reminded applicant that the fire extinguisher must be serviced annually or as often as necessary. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked, batteries should be replaced.
Applicant has completed the required preventative health and safety course which includes nutrition and prevention of lead exposure on 06/03/2023. Applicant’s Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires 10/11/2027. Mandated Reporter Training expires 10/03/2026. Applicants has required proof of immunizations on file.
Per Applicant Melissa Navarro, there are not any weapons or firearms in the facility. Applicant understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations.
According to the applicant, the children will use the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA noted that the yard contains toys and other play materials. The home is a new construction and the backyard consist of dirt for the time being. Applicant plans to install turf and cement, applicant understands they must contact licensing if there will be any construction done to the home. No hazardous objects were observed in the outdoor area.
There are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Applicant understands that all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools, spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
The isolation area for a sick child waiting to be picked up will be in the living room area, away from other children. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted.
The Applicant Melissa Navarro provided proof of control of property; mortgage statement. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, |
