32 | Applicant has completed the required preventative health and safety course which includes nutrition and prevention of lead exposure, and the Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on June 2027. Applicants have required proof of immunizations on file. Proof of Mandated Reporter Training was also provided.
Per Applicant, there are not any weapons or firearms in the facility. Applicant, Judith Nava de Leon, understands that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations.
According to the applicant, the children will use the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced with 5ft. white lattice panels surrounding the backyard. LPA noted that the yard contains toys and other play materials. Additionally, LPA observed an area of artificial grass in the backyard and both side yards are inaccessible with iron 3ft gate. No hazardous objects were observed in the outdoor area.
There are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Licensee understands that all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools, spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
The isolation area for a sick child waiting to be picked up will be in the living room area, away from other children. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted.
The applicant provided proof of control of property.
Applicant Judith Nava de Leon was reminded that all adults 18 and over, living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA informed Applicant of their reporting requirements. Any unusual incidents or injuries must be reported to the Department within 24 hours via telephone and within seven (7) days in writing.
