25 | On 5/3/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Janette Romero made an unannounced visit to the facility for a required annual inspection. LPA met with Case Manager (CM), Dana Garcia who was informed of the purpose of the visit. The facility has a fire clearance for 75 clients, of which 21 may be non-ambulatory. During today's visit, there was 54 clients and 20 direct care staff present. LPA toured the facility with CM Garcia, conducted staff and resident interviews, and reviewed documents.
LPA was informed the facility does not have any clients who currently require medication assistance during program hours. LPA toured the kitchen and observed the kitchen area to be clean and knives to be secured. Snacks are provided to clients during program hours. The facility also has emergency food and water for the approved capacity. Restrooms are clean and have toilet paper, paper towels and soap readily available. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secured in storage closets, inaccessible to clients in care. LPA reviewed random staff and resident files. Staff files reviewed have a criminal record clearance and current CPR/First Aid certification. Client files have updated physician's reports, Individual Program Plans and signed admission agreements. Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors were not tested due to several clients' hypersensitivity. However, the facility conducts monthly emergency disaster drills where smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors are tested by staff. LPA also reviewed the facility's last fire inspection report dated 7/7/2023, which notes smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be operational. The facility’s last earthquake drill was conducted on 3/22/2024 and fire drill on 4/19/2024. LPA observed charged fire extinguishers mounted throughout the facility, serviced on 2/16/2024.
During today's visit, LPA did not observe any issues or concerns. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to CM Garcia. |
