25 | On 5/6/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Janette Romero made an unannounced visit to the facility for a required annual inspection. LPA met with Administrator, Florence Bazile who was informed of the purpose of the visit. The facility has a fire clearance for four (4) non-ambulatory clients and is approved for delayed egress.
During today's visit, there was two (2) clients and two (2) staff present, and LPA was informed two (2) additional clients were out in the community. LPA toured the facility's interior and exterior with House Manager (HM), Tarsha Foster. During the tour, LPA observed the clients' medications are secured in a locked closet. HM Foster tested the carbon monoxide detector and fire alarm and LPA observed both to be operational. LPA also observed charged fire extinguishers mounted throughout the facility. HM Foster also tested the delayed egress and LPA observed it to be working properly. LPA toured the kitchen and observed the facility had a 2-day supply of perishable foods and 7-day supply of non-perishable food items and knives were secured in a locked kitchen drawer. Additional towels and linens are available for the clients and stored in hallway cabinets. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secured in a storage cabinet in the garage. The facility also has emergency food, water and backpacks filled with emergency supplies in the garage. Indoor and outdoor passageways are free of obstruction. There is two (2) outdoor shaded seating areas available for client use. LPA reviewed random client and staff files. Client files reviewed had updated Individual Program Plans, physician reports and signed admission agreements. LPA reviewed the Record of Client's/Resident's Safeguarded Cash Resources (LIC405) for two (2) clients along with their physical monies and did not discover any discrepancies.
During today's visit, LPA did not observe any issues or concerns. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to Administrator Bazile. |
