25 | On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Soleil Marx met with Lead Teacher Amy Ronsheimer for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 17 children supervised by 3 staff and 1 parent volunteer. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 11:45 PM.
LPAs toured classroom space, restrooms, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Seatbelt law, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, fire drill log, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Lead teacher stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared to be clean throughout the facility. The program provides breakfast, lunch, and snack.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPA observed the facility’s paper sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on March 23, 2023. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Lead teacher stated that children use drinking fountains.
Three staff and four children's records were reviewed. Both children’s files and staff’s files were observed to be complete. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate.
