25 | On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Kyrsten Williams met with Director Sherry Velte for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed 15 children supervised by 10 staff across 3 classrooms. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classroom space and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child Personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, Infant Nap Mat and Cot Waivers, and Emergency Disaster Plan. Lead testing results are not posted. Director showed LPA the QR code that is above each tap used for drinking water. The QR code shows how many parts per-billion (PPB) of lead each tap tested for in the facility. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Staff stated that infant bedding is sent home with parents at the end of the week to be washed. LPA observed changing tables in arms reach of a sink. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack. LPA observed infant food labeled in the refrigerator.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. The facility uses an electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on January 16, 2025. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There is sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees and a gazebo. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children have personal cups which are labeled and filled using tap water. LPA observed staff bring the cups outside with the children during play time.
