Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with the site supervisor, Claire Hung, for a case management inspection. The facility requested the change of capacity of children from 56 to 28 children in care. Fire inspection was conducted on May 03, 2023 and approval was granted. Purpose of today's inspection was to measure the facility space and inspect the facility for health and safety of children.

The facility is operating at the school site in the portable classroom # 1. During today's inspection, LPA measured the classroom. Through measurements, it was found that the classroom has 708.879 Sqft area. LPA explained to the site supervisor that as per regulations (101238.3(a)), the facility must have 35 square feet per child. Based on the today's inspection, facility's square feet area is sufficient for 20 children. However, if the facility can get the documentation from school district superintendent certifying the classroom as classroom for instruction by the school district, then this facility will be exempt from square feet requirements (H&S code 1596.806(a)(2)). Otherwise, a new fire inspection approval will be requested for 20 children and maximum capacity of 20 children will be granted. The facility also requested to use the bathrooms and play yard at the school property. LPA observed facility has fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector on site.

Copy of this report was reviewed and provided to the site supervisor. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
