Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with vice principal, Tiffanee Johnson, for an unannounced annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. The facility operates at the school site in classroom Pre-K1, Pre-K2, Room # 3 and Room # 6. All staff has the criminal background check done by the school district. Present, there are 62 children in care with nine staff members. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operates day care from Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 2:30 PM.

During inspection, LPA inspected all of the classrooms and the play yard. LPA observed each classroom has fully charged fire extinguisher, first aid supplies, smoke detectors and fire alarms installed. Classroom # 3 has carbon monoxide detector installed. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper lid on top. Facility has water dispenser with drinking water available in each classroom for children. Food preparation area is free of litter. All of the food is stored adequately to prevent any contamination. All of the unused electrical outlets have child protective covers installed. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is sufficient amount of rubber material under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries. LPA observed the staff brought water jug with drinking water along, while the children were using the play yard.

LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed that facility is using electronic sign in/out. LPA observed facility has license and all of the other required documents posted and are visible for the public in each classroom. Each classroom has children allergy list and food menu posted. LPA reviewed random children's and staff's files. LPA observed facility has record of names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative. Multiple staff members have record of valid CPR training certificates on file. LPA reviewed the educational qualification of all the teachers. Facility has record of conducting fire and emergency drills. Per the drill log, last drills were conducted in March 2023.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The facility is aware that all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. The facility is using department approved vendor for the training. LPA observed the completion certificates for each staff on file.

No deficiencies are cited today. The copy of this report is reviewed and provided to the vice principal. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
