At 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18th, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pa Dao Vang met with Facility Representative, Jacqueline Miller, for the purpose of an unannounced, required - 3-year inspection. LPA observed a census of 35 napping children supervised by 7 teachers. Facility hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Center provides break, lunch, and afternoon snack to the children. They also accommodate children with food allergies.

Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of the classroom, restrooms, and food service areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, and menus. Facility Representative stated that there are no firearms nor poisons on the premises. LPA observed an expired fire drill log with the last date of 12/12/2023 and 8/30/2023.

LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of the outdoor space. Playground equipment and surfaces were free of loose or sharp parts. Outdoor shade was provided by canopies. Water is accessible with paper cups and water jugs for the children.

LPA reviewed staff and children's records. Each child's file contained an admission agreement, emergency card, health history, immunization, and acknowledgement of receipt of personal rights, consent for emergency medical treatment, and parent’s rights. LPA observed CPR and First aid certification for at least one staff on the facility premises. LPA observed current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter training certificates, emploChangeYourpyee rights, and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. There is at least 1 staff with current CRP/First Aid certification.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for


drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP).

Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

No deficiency cited for today’s inspection. An exit interview was conducted and this report was also reviewed with Facility Representative, Jacqueline Miller. A copy of this report and appeal rights were discussed and provided to Facility Representative. A notice of site visit was provided and posted by LPA and must remain posted for 30 days.
