25 | On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Pa Dao Vang met with Director Maria Melgoza for the purpose of an unannounced, annual required inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed a census of 31 children supervised by 9 staff. Facility hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Mondays thru Fridays. Center provides breakfast, lunch, and p.m. snack for the children. The facility is a full day program offering nap and rest time to children daily. The facility does not offer transportation services.
Director Maria Melgoza was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of the classrooms and restrooms. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, Earthquake Preparedness, Child Passenger Restraint Poster, Parent’s Notification, LIC613A Person Rights, Daily Activity Schedule, and menus. The cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Facility currently do not have children with medications. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Drinking water is accessible via water jug and cups.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Toileting facilities are in safe and sanitary condition. The floors appeared to be clean throughout the facility. Director Maria Melgoza stated that there is no smoking, no firearms nor poisons on the premises. LPA observed the facility’s electronic sign in and out system with parents’ signatures through the app. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on 1/28/2025.
