25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Gagandeep Singh and Erwina Pascual-Golamco met with the facility director, Carrie Robinson, for a case management inspection related to the incidents at the facility. Purpose of the inspection was explained.
The facility self reported that on January 11, 2023, a staff member was accused of violating a child's personal rights. During today's inspection, LPAs interviewed the director and acquire the information related to the incident. LPAs found that after the incident, the facility interviewed the accused staff member, the reporting party of the accusation and children from the classroom. LPAs received the copies of statement of the accused staff member and reporting party's statement. Per director, during the interviews, no witness was found. Per director, during children's interviews, all children informed the positive interactions with the accused staff member and did not report any incident. Per director, during the interview with the reporting party, the information conflicted multiple times. Director stated that the facility has conducted the training with the staff member on children's personal rights.
The facility also self reported that on January 19, 2023, during the transition, a child was left in the play yard unsupervised. During today's inspection, LPAs inspected the play yard and interviewed the director. Director stated that because the children from two classroom were present and exchanged in the play yard, there was a confusion about who has a specific child and the child was left in the play yard. Per director, the child was left in play yard for less than five minutes. Per director, the staff has been retrained on supervision and transitioning. Per director, the facility has updated the form and procedure of checking children back inside the classroom from the play yard.
