25 | On 12/06/2024, Licensing Program Analyst Katy Velazquez (LPA) conducted a Licensee initiated Case Management inspection for the purpose of inspecting a new play structure on the preschool playground. LPA arrived at the facility and was met by Director Amy Moreno (D1). LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entrance into the facility. D1 was required to pick-up and drop off children with the facility's bus. D1 requested that LPA work with Rachel Lane (D2). LPA observed a census of 45 preschool aged children. Before arrival at the facility, LPA reviewed the design of the structure and the model description which included specifications for ages 2- 5 years old. LPA inspected the new structure on 12/06/2024.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are 3 playgrounds on the property which are used for outdoor play. The 1st playground is for infants only. The 2nd playground is broken into 2 segments for preschool and school aged children to utilize the playground at the same time without co-mingling. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises. There were shaded areas on the preschool playground supplied by overhangs and canopies. The outdoor play area is fenced and equipped with children's outdoor play equipment. The outdoor activity space was NOT measured since the playground's size did not change nor the surrounding fencing; only the play structure was replaced. LPA observed the play structure to be anchored and is cushioned with poured in-place rubber. LPA observed portions of the rubber to have been repaired; however, the overall surface is not cushioned to absorb a fall. LPA will approve the use of the play structure; however, the rubber does need to be replaced for long term use of the play structure.
Effective today, 12/06/2024, LPA is approving the use of the preschool playground. NO DEFICIENCIES were cited today in the areas that were evaluated. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with Staff Member Lane. Licensee Appeal Rights were provided to D2. A Notice of Site visit was posted by LPA and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements will result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
