On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, at 09:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra conducted an unannounced follow up inspection to deliver findings for the above allegations. LPA met with Assistant Director, Donyale Lang Roberts. Present in the facility were 38 children being supervised by seven staff members..

During the investigation, LPA Sierra inspected the facility and conducted observations among staff and children. LPA interviewed reporting party (RP), staff, children and daycare parents. LPA also reviewed video footage and pertaining information. The complainant alleged “Staff makes inappropriate comments to daycare child, yell and discriminate against day care children”. Interviews with staff, children and parents, could not confirm or prove allegations. Staff interviewed stated to have never discriminated, or anyone making inappropriate comments towards a day-care child. Consistent statements were made during interviews with parents who stated staff interactions with children and families are appropriate and professional. During interviews with staff, it was revealed that teachers will raise their voice at times to better communicate with children when classroom is noisy.

Due to conflicting information received throughout the investigation from interviews with the RP, staff, children, and parents. LPA was unable to prove or disprove the allegations. Although the allegations may be valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence that the alleged violations occurred, therefore the above allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.

This report and Appeal of Rights were provided and discussed with Assistant Director, Donyale Lang Roberts. An exit interview was conducted, and a Notice of Site Visit was posted.
