25 | On January 12, 2023 at approximately 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Facility Representative Angelica Dennis for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed care and supervision of five toddlers and six infants by four fully qualified teachers and two teacher aides. The facility has a maximum capacity of 37. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
LPA toured the classrooms, kitchen, children’s restroom, staff room, and outdoor play areas. Facility representative stated there are no firearms on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and the ground below the play structures is sufficiently padded. Restrooms are in sanitary condition with functioning toilets. The floors were clean throughout the facility. Medications are stored in a pink backpack in the toddler room, out of children’s reach and labeled according to regulation.
LPA observed that solid waste containers were covered. Per facility representative, the facility provides snacks and meals are prepared in the school cafeteria. LPA observed a posted weekly snack menu. Infant’s food was labeled according to regulation. LPA observed an electronic sign in system near the front door.
All present staff files were reviewed and found to be complete. LPA observed staff had current Mandated Reporter certificates issued in 2022. At least one staff member had current CPR training which will expire February 10, 2024. Current facility roster and fire drill log last updated January 11, 2022 were on file.
