25 | On 02/10/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat met with Facility Representative Michelle Green for the purposes of an unnanounced case management inspection regarding lead testing. During time of arrival eight children present with two staff members. Everyone subject to a criminal background clearance has obtained one. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
On 12/14/2022, the facility tested water samples for lead. Results of the testing have indicated an Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of 240 UG/L for a water fixture (labeled sample #D in the testing). On 12/12/2022 the facility was notified that water levels were in exceedance of 5 parts per billion (ppb) in the locations that were tested. The faucet that was tested and identified is not utilized for any daily activities or drinking.
Through interviews, record review, and observation, LPA found that the faucet that was tested, and identified as exceeding 5ppb, is not utilized for any daily activities or drinking. During interviews with Facility Representatives, LPA Manabat learned that the fixtures for the facility, and all other Twin Rivers facilities, have water coolers within each classroom. Facility Representative stated that no Twin Rivers site uses drinking fixtures and, instead, opt for bottled water or water cooler water.
During interviews with Facility Representatives, LPA Manabat learned that the fixtures for the facility are not utilized for the purposes of drinking and that the facility only utilizes drinking water from Alhambra water jugs which are supplied every two weeks. LPA Manabat has observed that the children are given the water strictly from these jugs and that the facet does not have a drinking fountain attached to the sink.
