25 | On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Karyn Guerra met Director Crystal Johnson for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 32 preschool children supervised by 4 staff and 4 toddlers supervised by 1 staff. A census was conducted upon arrival. LPAs observed staff Cathy Bishop supervising children in classroom Kinder College. Staff does not have a current criminal record clearance. Staff had obtained a criminal record clearance previously but was last associated to a facility in 2016. LPAs reviewed staff file and observed a fax submittal sent to Child Care Licensing regarding Staff's fingerprint transfer on 3/27/2023. Director stated they were provided with a clearance number by Child Care Licensing staff when they called the office before faxing the transfer request. LPAs observed the clearance number written in staff's file. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
LPA toured classroom space, restroom, kitchen, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Earthquake Preparedness, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and three snacks.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPAs observed the facility’s paper sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted December 2022. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and rubber bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees and a shade structure. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that water is supplied using pitchers and cups indoors, and an igloo container outdoors. PAGE 1. REPORT CONTINUES ON LIC809-C
