13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara conducted a complaint follow up inspection to deliver findings and met with Assistant Director Kelly Neptune. LPA observed there were currently 90 children in care with 10 staff during nap time. During the investigation, LPA obtained relevant documentation and interviewed Reporting Party, Director and staff.
It was alleged that the staff did not attempt to prevent children from engaging in inappropriate behavior. Director stated that as often as possible, there would be an extra teacher in the classroom to shadow children that were having a difficult time in the classroom environment. Director stated on multiple occasions they removed the children from the environment by bringing them into the office or sending them home. Staff stated they made daily attempts to engage children in appropriate behavior and have been trained on how to manage behaviors. LPA reviewed staff trainings that are given once a month on topics such as behavior, supervision, and classroom management.
