25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with the owner, Liz Donkor, for an annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are three children in care. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 6:30 AM to 6 PM.
With the owner, LPA inspected the day care classrooms and play yard. Facility has smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, fire pull alarms and working telephone at the site. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility has refrigerator in the classroom to keep the milk, formula or other necessary fluids cold. LPA observed the children bottles were labeled and had proper lids to avoid any contamination. LPA observed the bottle warmer is placed next to the wall on the counter and is out of children’s reach. LPA observed the changing table is in good repair and properly sanitized. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper tight fitted lid on top. All unused electrical outlets have child protective covers installed. The facility has sufficient amount of cribs available for children. LPA observed the cribs are in good repair and proper sanitization. Play yard is free of hazards. There are plenty of age appropriate toys available in the play yard. There is shaded area in the play yard for the children. Per owner, the staff brings the drinking water with them,while children are using play yard.
During inspection, LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed facility has all of the required documents posted and are visible for public. LPA reviewed random children's and all present staff's files. LPA observed facility has record of names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative.
