13 | On June 6th 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mandie Goodwin met Director Laura Brennan to continue investigations and close a complaint investigation regarding the above allegation. Upon arrival there were 60 children, including 9 toddlers between 3 classrooms supervised by 10 staff members.
It was alleged that a staff member inappropriately handled a daycare child. LPA investigated the allegation by observing in the classrooms and through a series of interviews with the Director, staff, children and parents. Staff stated that they did not see children being handled roughly, with one staff member stating that if they saw that they would report it themselves. One staff member stated that they are trained to let the child initiate any touch and that if they do have to move a child for safety they talk to the child first. Parents interviewed did not reveal a concern with how the staff handle children. Children interviewed had mixed statements with some children stating that staff carry children at times, like to use the bathroom and everyone has to try; while others interviewed stated that they don't have to go to the bathroom if they don't want to and they walk to line up to use the bathroom.
