32 | LPA observed the sample of children’s files contained the appropriate documents. LPA observed a current fire/disaster drill log last dated September 2, 2022. LPA observed complete children’s roster on file. The facility is equipped with first aid equipment, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Required documents were posted near the preschool entrance.
On 07/15/2022, the facility tested water samples for lead. Three water outlets sampled indicated an Action Level Exceedance (ALE). These outlets are marked A, B, and H on the facility sketch provided by the center. A correlates to a drinking fountain in an entryway near the front office. B and H refer to sink faucets in the wet bar area of the Garden room. On 09/13/2022 the facility was notified that water levels were in exceedance of 5 parts per billion in the locations that were tested.
During today’s inspection, LPA observed that outlets A, B, and H are inaccessible to preschool children. These outlets were located beyond a locked door, past the gym area. Additionally, the Director stated that drinking fountain A has never been used by preschool children and the Garden room faucets have never been used for drinking or cooking. The Garden room has not been used as part of the preschool. All faucets used by preschool children have been tested and were not in Action Level Exceedance. Since the outlets in exceedance are not used by preschool children, a deficiency has not been cited during today’s inspection.
Facility Director was encouraged to the visit the Department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding child care updates, PINs, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to child care centers.
No deficiencies were cited based on today’s inspection. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Director. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
