32 | OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is one preschool outdoor area on the property. The Facility Representative stated the Toddler Component will be sharing the outdoor activity space. Director submitted a shared outdoor waiver request with a rotating schedule of the times when each group of children will be utilizing the outdoor space. The outdoor play area is fenced with a metal and wooden privacy chained fence that is at least four feet tall. LPAs observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys available for use.
There sandbox, natural materials, space for children to play, pickler climbing structure, and a larger plastic play structure. Director plans to buys another pickler climbing structure for the outdoor yard. Director was reminded to follow the safety label found on the structural website and ensure that staff will provide supervision to children. It is important that the staff and Director follow manufacturer guidelines.
Director stated there are no firearms, weapons, or bodies of water on the facility premises. There are shaded areas supplied by a tree, and sides of buildings. LPAs used measurements from report dated 4/03/2013.
The outdoor play area contains a total of 3343.77 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee’s request for 44 children at a time. LPAs reminded Director to follow the outdoor yard rotating schedule to allow preschoolers and toddlers to use the space at different times.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Effective today, Thursday, February 1, 2024, facility is approved for a Toddler Component add on to the preschool license. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
