25 | On January 9, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pa Dao Vang met with Director Katrina Duke for the purpose of an unannounced, annual required inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed a census of 20 children supervised by 3 staff in Room #103. Facility hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Center provides a.m. snack, lunch, and p.m. snack for the children. The full day program offers napping services for the children. The facility does not offer transportation services.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of the classroom and restroom. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, Earthquake Preparedness, Child Passenger Restraint Poster, Parent’s Notification, LIC613A Person Rights, Daily Activity Schedule, and menus. The cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. LPA reviewed children’s medication with proper labels and documentation. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Drinking water is accessible via water bottles, water filter container, and cups. The water bottles are transitioned with children to different environments.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lid. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary condition. The floors appeared to be clean throughout the facility. Director stated that there is no smoking, no firearms nor poisons on the premises. The facility uses an electric app on a tablet to communicate with parents, sign in and out. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on 1/9/2025.
