25 | On Friday, 28 February, 2025, at approximately 9:30am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Fabian Schwartz and Payenda Seddiq met with Licensee, Ivonne Bejar for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs observed licensee and Assistant supervising 8 children, 4 of which are infants. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA verified that the annual fees are current.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Facility is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom two-story home. Off-limit areas include: Entire Upstairs, Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, and Side Yard. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPAs observed that the facility is clean, sanitary, and in good repair. During inspection, LPAs observed a bottle of poison plant killer stored in inaccessible cabinet where other chemicals are stored correctly. Licensee removed poison plant killer during inspection bringing facility back into compliance. LPAs also observed a kitchen knife stored in unlatched drawer in children’s play room kitchen area which was accessible to children in care. Licensee immediately removed knife from area accessible to children, bringing facility back into compliance. LPAs observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. LPAs observed that there is a fenced backyard with no pool.
