25 | On Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 12:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tanya Washington met with Licensee, Vera Dimova, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Licensee's adult daughter adult son were present in the home during the inspection. Licensee recently requested to come off inactive status, she did not have any children enrolled since the beginning of COVID pandemic. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee confirmed that there are no new residents or employees since the last inspection. Licensee plans to operate Monday-Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM. Licensee stated that she is willing to accept children on Saturday's if needed.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: entire second floor, all three bedrooms downstairs, garage, shed and laundry room. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limits areas. Licensee was reminded that whenever children under five years old are present, she must install a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to second floor. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. There is no fireplace in the home. The backyard is fenced and there are no bodies of water. LPA observed a large trampoline in the backyard, Licensee was reminded to follow manufacturing guidelines when it comes to use of the trampoline.
LPA went over required forms for children's records and other records pertaining to childcare such as maintaining a children's roster and a fire drill log. Licensee’s CPR and First Aid is valid until 03/2026. Licensee is exempt from Mandated Reporter training due to language barrier.
LPA verified that the annual fees are current. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
