On Friday, August 23, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met with Licensee, Carol Curry, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were no children present at the facility upon LPA’s arrival, and licensee stated that she will not be watching any children today. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: master bedroom and bathroom, first bedroom, and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. LPA observed a fireplace to be barricaded according to regulation. LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the facility. LPA observed two fence boards down on the fence surrounding the backyard. LPA observed that the boards are in the Licensee’s neighbor’s yard, and licensee stated that the neighbor will be repairing them this upcoming weekend. LPA observed licensee barricade the areas.

LPA reviewed six children’s files which were observed to be complete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. Licensee does not watch infants. The facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every 6 months. The last fire drill was conducted 7/24/2024. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid card expires 1/14/2025. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter certificate expires 6/6/2026. Licensee understands that trainings must be completed every two years.

LPA verified that the annual fees are current. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
