25 | On Wednesday, 3 July, 2024, at approximately 2:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fabian Schwartz met with Licensee Katherine Swanson’s husband, Dale Swanson for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed licensee supervising adult grandson. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm. LPA verified that the annual fees are current.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Facility is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom two story home Off-limit areas include: Entire Upstairs, Laundry Room, Office, and Garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed that the facility is clean and sanitary. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility had cleaners located under bathroom sink. Bathroom sink had childproof locks, but they were not functional at time of inspection, making chemicals accessible to children. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. LPA observed that there is a fenced backyard. There is an in-ground pool on the property which is surrounded by a see-through mesh fence that is at least 5 feet high. LPA observed the gate to self-close and self-latch, however during inspection, one section of the wall was down meaning the fence did not meet Title 22 regulations at time of inspection. During inspection, husband re-installed section of see through pool fence bringing facility back into compliance.
